$15 Challenge - July 10 thru 17
I haven't done a post in a while to share how we're spending our summer fun money...$15 per week to spend on an activity or something fun to do together. We've had a few big outings planned, but for the most part, we've just spent little bits here and there ($3 to share some ice cream, $4 for admission to the Children's Zoo, $3 for the Science Center discovery room, a few dollars to share a gourmet grilled cheese at the farmer's market before we hit the playground...you get the idea--simple pleasures that make us happy). Sometimes we pick up a little toy if it relates to something that she has developed an interest in. For example, about a month ago Layla became fixated on me cutting up her bananas into bites for breakfast, and wanted to "help" me, but there was no way I was going to let her near a knife. When we were out doing our shopping, I found a wooden toy picnic basket that had fruit that you could "cut". Now we prepare breakfasts together sometimes, and she cuts along side me.

This is just me being goofy with our photo editing software. Makes a cool block print, don't you think? Love the eyes.
