CARS, TRUCKS, and more CARS!
It is our tradition to kill ourselves staying up late the night before the party to make the birthday cake. It was kind of simple, since I used toy cars on the cake instead of making the entire cake into the shape of a car, but I really love how this turned out. Black twizzlers and chocolate Cheerios for the win!
Dad contributed all of the artistic vehicle cut-outs, which are now proudly hanging in Luka's room.
And it wouldn't be a birthday party in our house without tissue pom poms.

Time to eat lunch. We grilled out hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie burger sliders. Here he is eating his bites, but shortly after the party, he went on a solid food strike that lasted a month. Now he's back to eating almost everything again.

Family photos...rare these days, so love them :)
Luka with Nonna & Poppa
He had help blowing out his candle from Mommy and Layla.
And now, a-million-and-one photos of Luka eating his slice of birthday cake. LOVED the frosting, which he also rubbed all over his belly and even into his diaper.

Nick is a riot.
1st Brose family photo in a long time!
Happy 1st Birthday, Luka Weiland. We love you!

Cute! Nice job on the cake! I would have eaten it in exactly the same style Luka did. :)
